Journey back to the Medieval times and the gallant Crusades with Caton Enterprises, Ltd.'s authentically costumed knights - Sir William Lancaster and Sir James Bamford . Together, they enlist your students to be with them on a Crusade and learn about the world of chivalry, and the customs, challenges and quests of this colorful time in history.

Through varied teaching techniques, inclusive of role-playing, Socratic questioning; visual aids and games; and demonstration, the students learn the many facets of the Middle Ages and the Crusades.

Topics include:

  • Training of a Knight
  • Medieval Weapons
  • Symbolism and styles of costumes
  • Geography of the path of the Crusades
  • Castles and their fortification and importance

As the students enter the assembly, gallant and ambiance-setting music plays.
A colorful set comprised of heraldic banners; weapons (pikes, crossbow, battle axe, swords, helment, flail); and chainmail and helmets welcomes the students and is a part of the performance.

The program is one hour in length, inclusive of a question and answer period. A student post-viewing worksheet is included for classroom use.

"The kids were really focused on the knight's performance and the information they provided. Whitney and Matthew held their attention very well and were very professioinal."

"This show is very educational. The actors articulate their words, and that is good as some of the vocabulary is new. I like to put the history of this time realistically and authentically and this show does. Great costumes and weapons...the kids were visually "glued." The actors were wonderful, talented professionals."
